For a thousand years the crystalline notes of the Celtic harp have been part of Irish music, and even the subject of songs such as "My Irish Harp" (to the tune of "Danny Boy") and "The Minstrel Boy." Harp-playing bards were welcomed and honored in noble homes throughout the land, and considered equal in rank to kings.
One of the best known harpers was Turlough O'Carolan, the last of the Irish bards and a genius at musical composition. He was born in County Meath, Ireland, and died in 1738. The playing of his musical legacy is part of the widespread revival of interest in Celtic music which has made popular groups such as the Chieftains, Enya, Clannad, and others.
Though listeners account for the majority of the participants in this revival, many people have also taken up the study of Celtic musical instruments. The beautiful harps on this page may inspire you to do the same.
The harps have decorated rosewood frames and mahogany plywood soundboards. The company offers a one year warranty on the frame and soundboard. All harps have sharpening levers on "C", "F" and "G" strings. Any problems with workmanship will be repaired free, up to 90 days after delivery by the manufacturer.
NOTE: Harps have decorated rosewood frames & mahogany
plywood soundboards. Our supplier offers a one-year warranty on the
frame and 5 years on the soundboard. Sharpening levers are not on
strings shorter than 6". All instruments come with a tuning tool .
All Celtic harps come with an extra set of strings and are color
coded; red for "C" and blue for "F". New harps normally need to be
tuned several times before they are functional. The more they are
tuned and the older they are, the brighter the sound becomes.
